Texas Thunderstorm

April through June is the rainiest time of year. It's also tornado season. Here in Round Rock, tornadoes are seldom an issue, but lightening strikes are. Most of the storms have been overnight. This storm in early June hit during the day. A day that was 95 degrees and sunny at first. It rained very hard, the hardest we've seen here, and the thunder and lightening was non-stop. But it lasted only 1 1/2 hours, then cleared and was sunny again.
This is the swollen creek on the north side of our apartment complex.

We went out during a lull in the storm to see the creek, but it started raining again while there. The girls and Rhonda were about to go swimming when the storm hit. Due to the lightening, they immediately got out of the pool!
