Vacation

Yes I said vacation! We hardly ever go on vacation but last week we were able to go because of some wonderful friends who let us use their timeshare. We went to Lake Palestine near Tyler Texas. It is amazingly beautiful up there. They have real trees and everything is green. Kaylah asked at least three times a day if we could move up there.

Here are some pictures of the lake.

Our condo was two bedroom, two bath and fully furnished including the kitchen(ie pots, pans, and dishes). We were lucky and ours even came with a mother and baby cat, which the girls were soooo excited about. We put the ash tray to good use and used it to hold the food we gave the cats. The girls named the mom Tabby and the baby Blue Bell (because she had incredibly blue eyes).

And what did we do while we were there? Half our time was spent in one of three swimming pools. With the rest of our time we...

rented paddle boats, and saw the tiniest, coolest fish ever. They were only 1/4 an inch long and they skimmed on top of the water. At first we thought they were bugs, but when we got up close we were surprised. They were amazingly fast.

They are hard to see but those little white specs are fish.

The girls were happy to get their first guitar lessons.

We went miniature golfing two times.

Do you like this picture of me? I had to include it because as the family photographer this is the only picture of me from all of vacation.

We spent a day at the water park. It wasn't very big but we sure had a lot of fun. Kaylah hadn't been on any water slides before so we started with the small ones and worked our way up. Each time I had to force her, knowing she would like it. When we were going up the flights of stairs for the big slides she was very mad at me. She continually said," I hate when you make me do things like this." "Why do you make me do things like this?" I told her it was because I knew she would like it and was just scared. That didn't help, she just got madder and madder at me. We were able to ride doubles or I wouldn't have made her go on the big ones. Afterwards I asked if she was glad I had forced her and she said "YES!" I think she rode it again about 8 times.

to be continued...

I am glad you have someone new that you get to force on rides. I can still remember you and Jeff making me go on space mountian when I was about 8 or 9.
