Trip to Georgetown with Marty and Nancy

Georgetown is about 20-30 minutes north. It's where the headquarters for our county, Williamson County, are. It's got a cool looking old downtown. Hopefully Marty's pictures of it turned out better than ours and we can include them later.

Here are pictures of us at the San Gabriel River in Georgetown.

Obviously the ducks and geese ignored the wet cement signs.

We went to the Georgetown Museum with a lot of interesting history of the area. There were pioneer clothes for kids to wear and tools from the era to try out.

Many of the early settlers of Round Rock and Georgetown were Scandinavian. This is a trunk of one such family that was shipped ahead of their arrival in the 1800s. Under her name Anna L. Wegstom it reads: "Roud Rock Willimson Co.  Texas North Amerka."
Note all her cute mispellings! Nice handwriting too!
Those early Scandinavian settlers had it hard here at first. They had their clothes from home that were too thick for the 100 degree summers. Over time they got more suitable clothing, but they would lose a lot of work time in the middle of the day until they did.

Rhonda and Rob,

Leslie Trosper here. Found you from Marque's blog. Loved reading some of your blog. Your dad and mom still look just the same. Where are they now? Tell them hi for me!

Also, looking at your girls is just like looking at you at the same age. Amazing!

So, it looks like Texas agrees with you. Take care!
